The headmistress catches Nicoleta smoking and pulls her into her office for a good flogging. The headmistress orders Nicoleta to remove her peasant shirt, ties her arms to the whipping post and proceeds to pummel her back with the whip. Nicoleta cries out with every lashing and promises never to smoke again.
